The 4th quarter IREM Georgia lunch meeting held at Maggiano's in Buckhead on Wednesday, December 11, was an unforgettable industry gathering aimed at celebrating 2024's IREM Georgia achievements and preparing for exciting opportunities in 2025.
INSPIRATION: The meeting kicked off with an inspiring keynote address by Dr. Debbie Phillips, owner of The Quadrillion and a renowned speaker in the real estate industry. Known as "The Apartment Doctor," Dr. Phillips has 30+ years of experience building high-performing teams and advising real estate owners. Her doctoral thesis, combining frontline expertise with academic research from UGA and Georgia Tech, developed an employee engagement model for multifamily housing. She serves on boards for workforce development and affordable housing and has earned global recognition, including being named one of Leaders Magazine’s “20 Most Inspiring Women” and 2023 Ambassador of the Year by Entryway. Founder of the Real Estate Career Academy, she’s dedicated to fostering talent pipelines in real estate.
Her talk, "Using Your Gifts," resonated deeply with attendees, encouraging them to recognize and maximize their unique talents. Dr. Phillips also urged leaders to steward well the opportunity to foster personal and professional growth within their teams, contributing to the overall organizational goals.
CPM INSTALLATIONs: One standout moment of the event was the installation of new Certified Property Managers (CPMs) and Executive CPMs. Installations with the designation were given to Bridget Ray from CWS Apartment Homes, Sarah Roberts from Roberts Properties, and Tina Sizemore from CAHEC. While they receive benefits from the new designation, they also pledge to adhere to a high standard in the industry. We celebrate these exceptional individuals who have gained a competitive edge and are now poised to turn their newfound knowledge into valuable contributions for their properties, clients, companies, and themselves.
TOYS for TOTS: Beyond the celebrations, the IREM Georgia chapter showcased a strong commitment to giving back by exceeding their goal for this year’s Toys for Tots donations. A heartfelt thanks to the efforts of Cherrie Carney, Dave Sayers, and all IREM members for rallying together for this wonderful cause.
FUNDS FOR IREM FOUNDATION: Another key moment was the generous contribution from Wendy Moza at Purse Vaults, who donated two luxurious Coach purses valued at $500 for auctioning in support of the IREM Foundation. This auction raised significant funds for educational initiatives.
2024 AWARDS: We celebrate our industry friends and colleagues for their outstanding achievements in 2024. Special kudos to Dr. Debbie Philipps, Sherle Brown, Rihan Ballari, Anna Bridgman, Scott Purcell, Jasmyn Sylvester, David Sayers, Jamie Teabo, Bridget Ray, Les Wilson, Deborah Westphal, and AMO Cortland Property Management.
